Bram E. Gieben (AKA Texture) is a writer and emcee, based in Edinburgh. He is the curator of open source fiction site Weaponizer, and co-curator of the netlabel Black Lantern Music, on which he has released two EPs of hip-hop, ‘Aphasia’ and ‘Synaesthesia’.

A founding member of the team that started The Skinny, a successful free paper based in Scotland, Bram has also written freelance for The List, Clash and other publications. In 2011, he joined Writer’s Bloc.

Bram has performed poetry across Scotland as a solo performer and as part of Chemical Poets.

In 2008, The Chemical Poets released their first book, ‘>Manual 01‘, through Red Squirrel Press. The book includes original illustrations by a range of international artists, alongside poetry, short stories, crosswords and script excerpts by Bram and his fellow Chemical Poets, Tickle and Harlequinade.

Bram cites the unholy trinity of Warren Ellis, Grant Morrison and William Gibson as the biggest influences on his writing. He drinks stout by preference, sometimes with a tequila chaser. He prefers cats to dogs, and his favourite colour is blue.

Bram blogs over on the WPNZR Feed and on Tumblr. Go bug him on Twitter. If you really want to know, read his rant-based LiveJournal.
